The mission of Nisk Art Friends is to promote excellence in The Arts, invest in future artists, encourage creativity and connect across communities. We hope this will foster a vibrant and diverse Arts community in our region by making a meaningful difference in the lives of Nisky students and our artistic landscape.

Nisk Art Friends invites Niskayuna parents, neighbors and those passionate about the Arts to become a member and join our cause. We would be honored to have you join us as a valued participant in our journey. Become a member today and proceeds from your annual membership fee ($30 for the 2025-2026 academic year) will support key initiatives, like:

• awarding art scholarships
• participating and hosting community events 
• installing a new community mural
• And much, much more!

Did you know that students with access to art education score higher on standardized tests, are five times less likely to drop out of school, and demonstrate higher literacy, writing and English proficiency skills? Nisk Art Friends is eager to make significant impact and would be honored to have you join us as a valued partner in our journey, either as a member or sponsor! 

Similar to Friends of Music, we are a parent/guardian organization passionate about supporting the students of the Niskayuna Central School District -- in this case in their pursuit of the Visual Fine Arts (across 2D, 3D, media and film) rather than music. 

During the 2025-2026 school year, Nisk Art Friends will be executing multiple fundraising strategies to generate support for this year's activity including:

• annual school calendar 
• membership fees
• annual spring trivia night
• local sponsors
• Niska Day raffle

During the 2025-2026 school year, funds raised by NAF will support:

• Annual school calendar showcase -- distributed each fall to deliver value to families wanting to enjoy the ease of each year's federal holidays, Nisky CSD school closures and 100+ pieces of artwork from the previous year's Best of Art Show all in one place.

• 2nd Annual NAF Trivia Night fundraising event -- each spring, invite your friends and family to join us for an entertaining night of trivia questions, conversation and laughter all in the name of the Arts.

• Annual Arts Scholarships and Awards event -- at the end of each school year, student scholarships and awards are given to recognize excellence in 2D, 3D and beyond. Awards are funded by Nisk Art Friends and selected by the school administration.

• Youth Art Enrichment Courses -- each year, the parents of our K-2 and 3-5 student artists ask for opportunities where our kiddos can stretch their creativity and hone their art skills -- which we are glad to coordinate with our own NCSD art teachers.

• Art Teacher Appreciation -- expressions of gratitude for our more than a dozen art professionals across all 8 schools within the Niskayuna Central School District.
